A 1990 running icon gets a premium reworking this season, with ASICS covering the Shigeyuki Mitsui-designed GEL Lyte III in luxe blue suede. It’s teamed with breathable mesh and smooth leather – in alternating colours on the medial and lateral side – to conform to the Monozukuri theme. The uppers are sat on a classic gum rubber outsole and have red katakana lettering, translating to GEL, on each heel to round off the sneaker’s philosophical underpinnings.
